Fall 2023
As we all prepare to transition to the new year, our fall interns are transitioning on to the next chapter of their student careers. All of our interns are great, but this class in particular seemed to settle in very quickly and establish themselves as a valuable part of the team right away. We have thoroughly enjoyed working with each of them and wish them all the best of luck in their endeavors!
As always, we asked our interns to share a few words about their time and experience at FanCompass, and we’re happy to share it here with you in our latest Intern Blog. Enjoy!
Kushagra Goyal (KG) - University of San Francisco
“As my internship draws to a close, I reflect on a journey that was as much about understanding the transformative power of sports and technology as it was about personal growth and professional development. At FanCompass, I had the unique opportunity to immerse myself in the innovative intersection of sports, technology, and fan data. In the Sponsorships division, I was privileged enough to be part of a team that plays a crucial role in bridging sports organizations with meaningful partnerships. This unique vantage point allowed me to witness firsthand the impact of successful sponsorships in sports. This internship provided me with an unparalleled learning opportunity. From data analysis to client communication, every aspect of my role was geared towards supporting and enhancing strategies. My journey at FanCompass would not have been the same without the incredible team I had the privilege of working with. I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone for their unwavering support, guidance, and professionalism. Each member of the team played a pivotal role in shaping my experience and contributing to my growth. Your mentorship has been invaluable and your dedication to your work and the nurturing environment you've created for interns like myself is truly commendable. As I move forward, the lessons learned and connections made during this internship will be invaluable. Thank you, FanCompass, for an unforgettable experience. Here's to continuing the mission of revolutionizing the business of sport!”

“My experience with FanCompass this past fall was nothing short of being one of the best experiences I have ever had. It became very apparent that I became a part of a great team that had a fantastic culture and was full of kind, hard-working people. I was able to have some great experiences with everyone on the FanCompass team and I have memories that I will cherish as I look back on this internship. Working with these great individuals showed me the great dedication they have and inspired me to better myself and my work habits from the first day I came to my last. The work you do here is full of purpose and is not “busy work” for interns to do. This internship helped me learn a lot about the sports industry, the work you have to put in, and how I can be successful throughout my time in this industry. This internship was my first experience working in the sporting world and I could not have asked for a better first experience. I know that FanCompass will continue to grow and dominate, and will continue to evolve in this ever-changing industry. As I continue my senior year at the University of South Carolina, I would recommend to anyone who wants an internship in the sporting world, that this company is a great place to grow and learn.”
William Golden (Billy) - University of San Francisco
“As a Masters student in Sport Management at USF, one of my priorities was to get valuable real-world experiences in the sport industry. The internship at FanCompass has proven to be the perfect way to do just that. As my internship comes to a close, I can say that it was a truly enlightening experience. FanCompass has been more than a workplace; it’s been a platform for growth and discovery. I leave with a clearer sense of my professional goals, valuable connections, and a wealth of experiences that I will carry with me into the next chapter of my career.
I want to express my deepest gratitude to each and every member of this team as well as to my fellow interns. I feel fortunate to have been welcomed into such a supportive work environment. I’ve learned an immense amount during my time here – from the intricacies of account management to the dynamic world of sports marketing. The hands-on experiences, the challenges, and the collaborative spirit have equipped me with skills and insights that extend far beyond the scope of this internship. I would highly recommend the FanCompass internship to all those who wish to further their careers in the sport industry.”
Crystalle Irons (Cfay) - University of San Francisco
“My time as a Summer/Fall Intern working with the FanCompass team is shaping my new career path in Sport. As a non-traditional grad student working through the University of San Francisco’s Sport Management program, I’m focused on recognizing transferrable skills in operations management pairing with a better understanding of sports business data. The team at FanCompass recognized my experience and rewarded me with an opportunity to work independently on a data study from their platforms and Google Analytics. I am so fortunate to work with Ryan on the transition from Google Universal to Google Analytics 4, supporting two quarterly reports for the Sacramento River Cats, as well as participating in daily workflow. My personal development wins include:
Education- better understanding of web design and online marketing
Networking- working closely with the FanCompass team and engaging with interns throughout the country
Participating in a highly functioning team-oriented work environment- From sales to marketing to account management to business development this nimble team supports each other working together to slay any business challenge through consistent communication and follow-up.
While I am privileged to develop a better understanding of research data and a better understanding of digital marketing strategies I am further able to utilize this 6-month experience, developing my work via. a research project focused on fan engagement in the digital environment during my last semester with USF. This is above and beyond my expectations and I’m truly grateful.
Thank You FanCompass for having such a supportive environment for students so that we can learn and develop valuable work experience.”
