Summer 2023
Please enjoy these parting words from our 2023 Summer Interns. If you’d like more information about our year-round internship program contact David Berkompas at dberkompas@fancompass.com.
“During my final semester at Syracuse University, my capstone internship at FanCompass proved to be an extraordinary and enriching experience. The opportunity to collaborate with the amazing people at FanCompass has been nothing short of a privilege. The team’s talent and dedication have consistently inspired me to continue a path within sports and marketing.
My time here has been a learning journey. The insights I’ve gained, the skills I’ve learned through social media and other platforms along with the challenges I’ve faced have contributed to my personal and professional growth. Undoubtedly, the knowledge and experiences I’ve gained during my time at FanCompass will play a pivotal role as I transition into my career. The open and collaborative atmosphere that FanCompass has created, shaped my internship into a memorable and productive period.”
“Ever since my very first interaction with FanCompass, I immediately knew it was the company I wanted to begin my journey in the sports industry with. Throughout the interview process, it became transparent how passionate the employees were about what they do and I genuinely could not ask for a more people-friendly environment to welcome me into the field. Every single member of the organization wants to see the interns succeed and they were all extremely accommodating to my personal goals regarding what I wanted to get out of the position.
Although interns are typically referred to as the “bottom of the pyramid” in all businesses, the FanCompass staff always made me feel like I was a vital part of the team, treating the interns with the utmost respect and appreciation. One thing I was really looking forward to with this position was seeing the real-world impacts of my work, something that is not exactly feasible inside the classroom or within coursework at school, and it was clear that the work I was doing was truly benefiting the organization as a whole. Being able to show my family and friends the live campaigns I helped edit and create on the official websites of numerous teams was very meaningful to me.
Due to FanCompass’ expansive list of teams, which I only expect to grow as the company continues to dominate the fan engagement field, I was able to gain valuable insights and experience with organizations in a multitude of different sports and leagues. All work and projects were explained in perfect detail, which contributed to the development of my skills on platforms such as Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, Google Analytics, Keynote, SponsorUnited, and more. Whenever I had a question regarding my responsibilities, a member of the team was always readily available to point me in the right direction. I could not be more thankful for this internship program as well as the people I met along the way, and I will utilize the skills I developed and expanded on throughout the rest of my career.
As I begin my senior year as a sport management major at Syracuse University, my career goals have been reinforced thanks to my time with FanCompass. I would highly recommend this program to anybody pursuing a career in the sports industry and I look forward to seeing FanCompass continue to evolve!”
“As a current graduate student at the University of San Francisco, I wanted to intern for a company where I could take what I am learning in the classroom and apply it to a real-world setting. Fancompass provided me with an excellent opportunity to work on real-world projects for MiLB and USL teams and be able to interact with a variety of successful sports industry professionals across many different sports. It was a great learning experience as I now have a better idea to build and cultivate organic relationships
with colleagues and industry professionals. Throughout my internship, I learned much about the importance of fan data in the sports world, identified my professional strengths and weaknesses, and figured out the career path I want to take in the sports industry. From team meetings on Fridays to sitting in on client calls, I highly recommend this internship to anyone looking to enter the sports industry and gain invaluable real-world sports industry experience.”

I was able to get a taste of what it is like to work in the sports world and how important it is to collaborate with your colleagues and work as a team. FanCompass has provided me with opportunities and exposure that I wouldn’t find elsewhere. I want to thank everyone at FanCompass for being so welcoming and helpful throughout this journey and for preparing me for success in my future endeavors. As I head into my senior year at East Carolina University, I am certain that the FanCompass internship has helped me define my career path more clearly. Thank you FanCompass!”
